TkuÖpenMic to 9.2.2023 klo 19-22 @ Bar Ö / Muistot & unelmat
Helmikuun TÖM on omistettu muistojen ja haaveiden haavoille ja pilvilinnoille! Tunnelmaan virittävät kimmeltävät kutsuvierasrunoilijat Linda Halonen sekä Rae Aiemaa. Heidän jälkeensä lava on avoin jokaiselle, joten kaiva sinäkin pöytälaatikosta muistoa, unelmaa tai jotakin tyystin toista teemaa ruotiva runo, räppi, laulu, stoori, aforismi, anekdootti tai performanssi – tai pelkät kuuntelutaitosi – ja suuntaa uusien ja vanhojen runotovereiden inspiroivaan joukkoon Bar Ö:n hellään huomaan. Illan juontajana toimii Emma Leppo.

TURVALLISEMMAN TILAN PERIAATTEET
TkuÖpenMic ja Bar Ö ovat sitoutuneet noudattamaan turvallisemman tilan periaatteita, eli tilassa ei ole sijaa rasismille tai muulle syrjinnälle, häirinnälle tai kiusaamiselle. Jos itse kohtaat, tai huomaat että johonkuhun toiseen kohdistuu tapahtumassa jotakin näistä, rohkaisemme sinua kertomaan asiasta tapahtumassa nimetylle häirintäyhdyshenkilölle tai suoraan baarin henkilökunnalle milloin tahansa tapahtuman aikana.
Turvallisemman tilan periaatteiden avulla pyritään luomaan yhdessä kunkin paikallaolijan voimin yhteinen tila, jossa kaikki voivat tuntea olonsa omaksi itsekseen: turvalliseksi, tervetulleeksi ja tasa-arvoiseksi toisten kanssa. Turvallisemmassa tilassa yritetään olla tekemättä oletuksia toistemme sukupuolista, uskonnoista, kansalaisuuksista, seksuaalisista suuntautumisista, luokkataustoista tai muista vastaavista ominaisuuksista. Kunnioitetaan toistemme rajoja, itsemäärittelyoikeutta sekä fyysistä koskemattomuutta. Annetaan tilaa toisille ja toisten kokemuksille ja näkemyksille, eikä myöskään esitetä syrjiviä tai sortavia mielipiteitä taiteen- tai sananvapauden nimissä. Jos kuullaan, että ollaan tarkoitusperistä riippumatta tultu itse syrjineeksi tai häirinneeksi jotakuta, niin kuunnellaan, pyydetään anteeksi ja muutetaan omaa käytöstä.

TkuÖpenMic Thursday February 9th 2023 at 7-10pm @ Bar Ö / Dreaming, remembering
February’s open mic is dedicated to the pleasures and wounds of dreams and memories. The night begins with poetry readings by our radiant guest artists, Linda Halonen and Rae Aiemaa. After them the stage is yours, so bring your poem, rap, song, story, spectacle, aphorism, anecdote, anything – or just your listening skills – and come meet your old and new exciting poetry pals at the beloved Bar Ö. Emma Leppo will serve as the host of the evening.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE OPEN MIC
Everyone who wants will have 5 minutes max to perform their piece.
The piece has to be written/created by the performer themself.
The piece does not contain hate speech or other discriminatory content.
SAFER SPACE GUIDELINES
TkuÖpenMic and Bar Ö are committed to creating and maintaining safer spaces. This means that there will be no tolerance for racism or any other form of discrimination, harassment or bullying. If you yourself face or you see someone else facing any of these things, we encourage you to tell about it to either the harassment contact person, or directly the bar staff anytime during the event.
Safer space guidelines are a strategy of creating, with the shared effort of every participant, a collective space where everyone can feel at home: safe, welcome and equal to others. In a safer space, we try our best not to make assumptions about each others’ genders, religions, nationalities, sexual orientations, social classes or other similar attributes. Let’s respect each others’ boundaries, rights to self-identify and rights for physical integrity. Let’s give space for other people and their experiences and points of view. Let’s not express discriminating or oppressive views in the name of “art” or “freedom of speech”. If we are told that we, regardless of our intentions, have discriminated or harassed someone, let’s listen, apologize and change our behavior.

RAE AIEMAA (they/them)
Rae Aiemaa on villi ja herkkä otus, sekä lavarunoilija, joka herää eloon esityshetkessä, löytää lavalla joka kerta uuden totuuden. Hän ei usko totuuteen, hän uskoo sanojen väleihin, niiden yhteenpoimuttuneisiin laskoksiin, siihen, että loitsittava on, ja kiire ei saa tulla runoilijan elimistöön, mutta itse runojen, runojen on juostava.
Rae Aiemaa is a wild and delicate creature, a poet that comes alive in the act of performing, finding another truth from the stage every single time. They don’t believe in the truth, though: they believe in the spaces between words, folded and intertwined, and in the fact that one has to cast spells, and that the poet’s body shall never be in a hurry – but the poems, on the other hand; the poems have got to run.
LINDA HALONEN (they/she)
Linda on Helsinkiin ajautunut lavarunoilija, joka kirjoittaa levottomasti keijupölystä ja verestä, juurista ja juurettomuudesta, sisaruudesta ja elintärkeästä ystävyydestä, toivosta ja dystopioista, vallankumouksista ja magiasta, siitä miltä tuntuu olla nuori ja siitä miltä tuntuu kun ei tunnu miltään. Hänen runojaan sävyttävät yhteiskunnalliset teemat, kuten ilmastoahdistus ja patriarkaatti, mutta myös elämän merkitysten ja oman voiman löytäminen.
Wound up in Helsinki, Linda is a performing poet that restlessly writes about fairydust and blood, roots and rootlessness, siblinghood and crucial friendships, hope and dystopias, revolutions and magic, what it feels like to be young and what it feels like to not feel. Their poems are marked by political themes such as climate anxiety and the patriarchy, but also by finding one’s power as well as meaning in life.
